About the event
Escondido Republican Women is honored to present a special program featuring two outstanding leaders making an impact at both the national and local level.
Star Parker is the founder and president of the Center for Urban Renewal and Education (CURE), a national public policy organization dedicated to fighting poverty and restoring communities through faith, freedom, and personal responsibility. A nationally recognized author, commentator, and speaker, Parker has advised national leaders, testified before Congress, and regularly appears in national media discussing economic opportunity, public policy, and the importance of strong families and communities.
Joining her is Mariko Nakawatase-Walk, Imperial Beach City Councilmember and president of a youth leadership organization dedicated to encouraging the next generation to become active participants in civic life. Through her work in local government and community leadership, Nakawatase-Walk is committed to strengthening communities and empowering young leaders to engage in public service.
