About the event
Mari Barke is President of the Orange County Board of Education. She was first elected in 2018 and is up for re-election in 2026. She ran for office so that more children in Orange County would have the educational choices and opportunities that her own children enjoyed. Mari is an unwavering advocate for students and families, and strongly supports policies that protect parental rights and ensure students’ access to high-quality education is not limited by their zip code. Since Mari joined the board in 2018, the number of charter schools in Orange County have grown from 14 campuses to 46 under her leadership.
Mari Barke is the director of CPC’s California Local Elected Officials (CLEO), a membership organization that supports, advises, and educates local elected and appointed officials who stand for financial sustainability, government transparency and results-driven governance.
